About Tasman Adventures | Hobart Sailing School

My mission is to share my passion for sailing with you and provide you with the tools and knowledge you need to become a confident sailor. I believe that sailing is not just a hobby, but a way of life that can bring people together and create unforgettable experiences.

On-water training takes place onboard "Sirens' Song", a Cape Dory 330. She is a long-keeled fiberglass boat built in 1983 in Taunton Massachusetts and was sailed to Tasmania from California by Jason in 2009.

Jason has sailed more than 85,000 NM having crossed the Atlantic, Pacific and The Tasman as skipper. He is a fully qualified RYA Yachtmaster Examiner and Cruising Instructor Trainer with Instructor Qualifications in Ocean Crossing, Astral Navigation, Sea Survival, Radio operations and Diesel Engine Maintenance. Jason also holds several degree level qualifications in Teaching and Learning.
